BO-KAAP by Mikhail Motala

Tucked away under the slopes of Signal Hill, formerly known as the Malay Quarter, this bright and colourful neighbourhood has a rich Cape Malay culture with roots as old as Cape Town itself. The Brightly colored homes and romantic cobble stoned streets of Bo-Kaap are just fascinating and so dramatically different from the rest of Cape Town.

I met Mikhail for the first time at Afrika Burn and we instantly hit it off. As he is a photographer based in Cape Town, he promised to show us around the city and a photoshoot was inevitable.
Bo-Kaap was our first stop.
Just the bright colors of Bo-Kaap put us all in a good mood and we spent about an hour walking though the lovely lanes of this neighbourhood. Here i am sharing some of the amazing captures by Mikhail.
